What are Copper Bromide Lasers

Copper Bromide Lasers

There are many types of lasers, one type isĀ Copper Bromide lasers (CuBr2) which is a chemical compound.
It is used in photographic processing as an intensifier and as a brominating agent in organic synthesis.

Copper(II) bromide can be obtained by combining copper oxide and hydrobromic acid. Copper bromide lasers produce pulsed yellow and green light and have been studied as a possible treatment for cutaneous lesions. Experiments have also shown copper bromide treatment to be beneficial for skin rejuvenation. It has been widely used in photography as its solution was used as the bleaching step for intensifying collodion and gelatin negatives. Copper(II)bromide has also been proposed as a possible material in humidity indicator cards.

These lasers are also used in retail beauty therapy:

The small spot size makes it impractical to treat large port wine stains effectively.
Laser treatment is much more effective and better tolerated than diathermy or electrolysis.

Safety needs to be considered when handling Copper Bromide itself.

RumotechnicalĀ can provide insurance quotes to repair lasers used in plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery and dental equipment repair as well.
